What is FMCS?
The Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme (FMCS) is a certification program implemented by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Its primary objective is to ensure the quality, safety, and reliability of imported products sold within the Indian market. The FMCS is governed by the BIS, which is the national standards body responsible for promoting and maintaining quality standards in various industries Under the FMCS, foreign manufacturers are required to obtain certification from the BIS before their products can be legally imported and sold in Indian Market.
